Christmas 2010

Happy Christmas Friends and Family!! This holiday has been quite busy! We celebrated our own family Christmas here in Charlotte before making the big trip to FL for a week. We spent a few days at Oma and Auntie Kate's house and then down to the Doehnes to see Mimi and Papa. While away we missed one of the few white Christmases that Charlotte has seen in sometime. We supposedly got somewhere around 5-8 inches of snow!! While we were enjoying the FL sunshine, our neighbors were building snowmen and going sledding! It was great to see most of our family and friends...but we missed the few who could not spend the holidays with us.
Connor was also sick this Christmas...which has already become a tradition for him. The doctor thought he had croup. But thankfully it didn't last long and he was back to himself in a week or so. However, because he was not feeling his best, he was not very interested in opening presents. He liked the toys that were under the pretty paper, but he did not have any desire to rip the paper and see what was inside.

Connor's newest milestone is counting...he loves to count to 5! He is also putting words together to make small sentences. His new word is "otay"...for okay. It is the cutest thing to hear. It usually follows a conversation like this, Connor will say "up, please, otay"...all in a row...probably because 'okay' is usually our answer when he has said 'up, please'.
As for Baby Boy #2...I am officially 29 weeks this Saturday, Jan. 1. Only 11 more weeks to go!! I am still feeling great but we have a lot to do to get ready for this little boy! We haven't been able to decide on a name yet...we are still taking suggestions :)
We are ready to bring in the new year of 2011, and all the exciting memories that will come along with it...we are looking forward to the year ahead and meeting this new little boy that we will be adding to our familiy!

Enjoy the picture album below of our Christmas as well as the little video montage of Connor's latest accomplishments! Some of the videos are a month old (for example, his animal sounds are much better now)...but we thought we would share them anyways....enjoy!

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

Yes, sir...as you all know it is mighty cold up here in the Carolinas!!! It definitely feels like Christmas in Charlotte!!! So we have been gearing up for the holidays and decorating our new house. We were able to get a very tall tree this year...which looks amazing!! Papa and Mimi were here to help us pick it out and decorate it! Connor is having a ball, and everything is about 'Hoho'...which is what he calls Santa. However, he screamed when it came time to go visit Santa. But that is okay, maybe next year we will get that smiley picture! We head down to Florida next week to celebrate the holidays with family. So we will make sure to post as soon as we get back so we can share Connor's 2nd Christmas with you all...we know this time around he will have a lot more fun opening presents!

Here are some pics over the last few weeks:

Thanksgiving

I know...I know...I am SO behind!!!
So, I am not going to be long winded and write a lot...
The weekend before Thanksgiving we had the McCully family in town for a short visit. They are college friends with a little girl, Emma, who is just weeks older than Connor. It was nice to see them and get the little ones together. They had so much fun, and after they left Connor kept saying "Emma Emma".

For Thanksgiving, we hosted the Doehne family. Mom, Dad, Steph, and Rob all came to stay and relax and eat! We had a wonderful time! Connor finally selected names for his grandparents....what started off as Grandpa, became Pa and now is Papa. Grammy also became Mimi by the end of the week. So we have an official Papa and Mimi. We also had an amazing dinner, as always, Sue makes the best turkey and gravy ever tasted!

Here are some pics of the week:
